Kendrick Lamar Goes Back To Back With Another Drake Diss

In early April, it was Drake who released back-to-back diss songs at Kendrick Lamar. These were responses to a boastful feature verse on Future & Metro Boomin’s “LIKE THAT,” where Kendrick asserted himself as the king, refuting “The Big 3” notion of himself, J. Cole, and Drake. The first of Drake’s disses was “Push Ups,” an April 13 release that was initially speculated to be artificial intelligence. After multiple versions circulated, the song was eventually confirmed to be authentic, and eventually was added to Drake’s artist accounts on DSPs. That song made light of Kendrick’s small stature and shoe size, while questioning his business acumen as it relates to former label TDE. Less than a week later, Drake released “Taylor Made,” a second diss that did employ AI—using voices sounding like Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg to condemn Kendrick’s lack of response and West Coast Rap fortitude while claiming he yielded plans to past collaborator Taylor Swift. After Tupac’s family and estate threatened legal action, that song was pulled from the Internet.

In the last week (April 30), Kendrick responded. “euphoria” was a densely packed response where Kendrick literally listed the reasons he hated Drake, while claiming that the truth about the Toronto artist could be damning. The song (which is believed to be filled with hidden messages and symbolism) also demanded that Drake, whose father is Black and mother is white, stop using the N-word. Drake has not responded with a verse. Instead, following Kendrick’s diss on Tuesday, the OVO leader posted an Instagram story of a clip from teen romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, featuring a poem he found similar to a section of “euphoria.”

Kendrick Lamar Disses Drake For 6 Straight Minutes

Today (May 3), there was not a Drake response—as some speculated and many anticipated. Instead, over the last hour, Kendrick doubled down with a song on his Instagram page. “6:16 in LA” borrows from Drake’s timestamp series. Over a Soul sample beat, Lamar touts at the top, “I think somebody lyin’, I smell somebody lyin’.” As his verse kicks in, he says, “Trifecta: money, morals, and culture, that’s my leisure.” Leading with principles, he prays to God in the song, coming back to broad melody: “Who am I if I don’t go to war? / There’s opportunity when livin’ with laws / I discover myself when I fall short / Raise my hands to a fallen sky, I fantasize / Me jumpin’ planets and mortal lies, I correspond / Three angels watchin’ me all the time / Put my children to sleep, with a prayer, then close my eyes, definition of peace / Tell me who gon’ stop me? I come from love, and still cover my heart, then open me up / Remember when, picked up a pen, wrote lyrics that I could trust / Timid soul, stare in the mirror, askin’ where I was from / Austin, I know this type of power is gon’ cost, but I live in Cicadian rhythms of a shooting star.” Kendrick appears to look at his inner-peace and inner-strength, and remind all that he’s up for the complications that come with leadership.

As the song develops, Kendrick speaks directly to his target—or targets. The MC compares himself to a master artist. “The mannerisms of Raphael, I can heal and give you art / But I pick the carcass apart / Yeah, somebody’s lyin’, I could see the vibes on Ak’ / Even he lookin’ compromised, let’s peel the layers back / Ain’t no brownie points will be on your chest / Harassin’ and, f__kin’ with good people / And good people go to ‘Bec.” Kendrick then moves squarely to Drake:Conspiracies ’bout cash dog? That’s not even the leak / Find the truths like cash dog, I just need you to think / Are you finally ready to play have-you-ever? Let’s see / Have you ever thought that OVO was workin’ for me? / Fake bully, I hate bullies, you must be a terrible person / Everyone in your team is whispering that you deserve it / Can’t ‘Toosie Slide’ out of this one, it’s just gon’ resurface / Every dog gotta have his day, now live in your purpose.

Kendrick proceeds to suggest that Drake has been unsuccessful in digging up dirt. “It was fun ’til you start to put money up in the streets / Then lost money, ’cause they came back with the no receipts / I’m sorry that I live a boring live, I love peace / But war-ready, if the world’s ready to see you bleed.

As Pusha-T had said about Drake’s musical partner Noah “40” Shebib during their feud, Kendrick suggests Drake’s circle is not as tight as he may think it is—and that there is an information leak. “These images trouble you, know the wire in the circle should puzzle you / If you were street smart, then you woulda caught that your entourage is only to hustle you / 100 n___as that you got on salary, and 20 of ’em want you as a casualty / And one them is actually, next to you / And two of them is practically tied to your lifestyle, just don’t got the audacity to tell you / But let me tell you some game, ’cause I can see you my lil’ homie / You playin’ dirty with propaganda, he blow up on ya.” He accuses Drake of misusing the Internet and hiding behind Wi-Fi. It is a contrast to Drake’s portrayal of Kendrick hiding in his recently-purchased Brooklyn penthouse. In the song, Kendrick mentions yacht purchases, exotic destinations, and Brooklyn pizzerias to seem to remind his opponent that he is everywherenot sitting in solitude. The song closes with Kendrick’s latest comparison to Michael Jackson. “The forced opinions is not convincin’, y’all need a new route / It’s time you look around on who’s around you, before you figure that you’re not alone / Ask what Mike would do.” The reference to The King Of Pop leaves the song with Kendrick warning Drake to audit within his circle.

Notably, the artwork features a single Maybach leather driving glove. The lone glove may also be a MJ reference. Complex points out that 6:16, if a reference to the calendar date, June 16, is Father’s Day. In “euphoria,” Kendrick emphasized his dedication as a parent while knocking Drake’s—something that Pusha-T has done for almost six years. June 16 is also Tupac Shakur’s birthday.

As the Internet speculates timing of a Drake response, the OVO leader is still on the clock.

Brittney Griner Details Her Mental Health During 10-Month Long Russian Imprisonment– ‘I Wanted to...

A little over a year since being released from a Russian prison, Brittney Griner is opening up about her mental health during that horrific time.

On December 8, 2022, the WNBA star was released from Russian detention after nine months of efforts pushing for her release.

As previously reported, Griner was arrested for allegedly traveling with vape cartridges containing THC oil which is illegal in Russia where she was playing for the UMMC Ekaterinburg Russian-based basketball team.

According to TMZ, Griner opened up about her mental health struggles during her detention in an ABC News special.

“I wanted to take my life more than once in the first weeks,” Griner said. “I felt like leaving here so badly.”

Griner also shared there was only one reason she didn’t follow through with the action; she was unsure that her body would be released to her family.

“I can’t put them through that,” she said. “I have to endure this.”

Later in the interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, Griner also shared that the conditions where she was held were horrendous and included a bed with huge blood stains, limited toilet paper, and soap. The athlete told Roberts that she was so desperate to come home that she didn’t hesitate when she was asked to pen a letter to Vladimir Putin requesting forgiveness.

Now in a much better place and back at home, Griner joined The Phoenix Mercury and averaged 17 points for the 2023 season.

She and her wife Cherell Griner are also expecting their first child.

Dreams Do Come True! Dawn Staley Celebrates South Carolina’s National Championship Win At Disney...

After leading the South Carolina women’s basketball team to its third national championship, beloved Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley celebrated the big win at Walt Disney World Resort where she enjoyed signature attractions and took part in a celebratory parade at Magic Kingdom.

Staley, who became the highest-paid Black women’s coach back in 2021, waved at fans while riding atop a parade float with her fellow South Carolina assistant coaches and a hoops-ready Minnie Mouse at Magic Kingdom.

With a record of 109-3 over the past three seasons, the 6-time WNBA All-Star couldn’t help but coach up Minnie Mouse who showed up ready to hoop in her own pink basketball uniform.

As one of the buzziest names in sports, it was only right for Staley to announce that she was “Going to Disney World!” after finishing her “fairytale” season with a championship.

For nearly 40 years, players have gleefully declared they’re going to the magical destination after winning a championship in a timeless tradition that started when the New York Giants won the Super Bowl in 1987.

This time around, it was Coach Staley enjoying the parks while rumors swirled about her potentially interviewing for the vacant Charlotte Hornets head coaching job.

While it’s intriguing to imagine Staley leading a professional men’s franchise, it doesn’t appear likely based on comments she made during an interview with the Wes & Walker show on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ in Charlotte.

“My passion has always been young people,” said Staley who revealed she has no interest coaching professional basketball in the interview, per The State. “I consider myself a ‘dream merchant’ for my players. And I really feel like this is my calling.”

At some point, we expect her to make the leap to the NBA but, until then, we’ll continue watching her make magic at South Carolina.

An Alabama woman is going viral for claiming that Lil’ Kim’s signature matrix dance moves helped save her life during a nearby shootout.

Even with the social media era thriving in its golden age traditional mediums like the news and local television can still create viral sensations. Reporters are notorious for seeking attention-grabbing stories and grabbing animated witnesses to recap what happened.

According to Complex, that exact situation happened in Alabama when a woman claimed that Lil Kim’s “Quiet Storm” dance saved her life.

On April 26, shots rang off at Westgate Village Apartments in Dothan, Alabama near resident Shariah Taylor. Taylor fearing for her safety did what she thought was best and broke out Lil Kim’s signature “Quiet Storm” matrix-like dance moves to show how she dodged bullets in real time.

Yes, she was serious.

“I hear pop, pop, pop, about 7 rounds,” said Taylor. “So I’m dodging, I’m ducking, I’m dodging, I’m ducking, I’m dodging, doing my Lil’ Kim. I’m trying to get my baby in the car, then I threw my baby in the backseat and we just sped off.”

It’s good to see that despite the danger Ms. Taylor is still in good spirits. Who knew that hitting the Lil Kim could be life-saving?

Kendrick Lamar has set Hip-Hop, the internet, podcasts, and radio shows ablaze via his scathing new Drake diss “euphoria” and the buzz about the barbed bars has even reached levels far beyond the arena of rap music.

Last night, sports fans were treated to a steady dose of Mr. Morale’s lyrical stylings with both “Like That” and “euphoria” playing during commercial breaks on TNT’s broadcast of the NBA playoffs.

It should also be mentioned that Kendrick’s bars have taken the culinary world by storm as well. Toronto restaurant New Ho King was name-checked in “euphoria” and the owner says that talk of his eatery has blown up overnight with thousands of people leaving 5-star reviews and mentioning the song.

This morning, Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Jess Hilarious of The Breakfast Club weighed in on the track and offered their perspective on how Kendrick approached his long awaited response.

Where do you stand on the beef? Do you want more? Are you over it? Do you want Drake and Kendrick to go one more round before you decide the “winner?” Fill up the comment section with your arguments and vitriol. We can’t wait to read it.

On May 1, the songstress, 43, was filmed dropping it low onstage while performing for fans at the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage festival. The R&B singer’s burgeoning baby bump was on full display as she shook her tailfeather in front of attendees, dancing to Snoop Dogg, Doctor Dre, Nate Dogg, and Kurupt’s “The Next Episode.”

A video of the cute moment was posted Wednesday to the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Instagram Page.

In a subsequent post, Ashanti, who is currently carrying her first child with fiancé, Nelly, was captured having a ball with her former Murder Inc. label-mate, Ja Rule, as they performed “Mesmerize,” a classic featured on the rapper’s debut studio album The Last TemptationAt one point during the hype show, Ja Rule rubbed on the singer’s burgeoning bump as they cut up onstage and grooved.

In the comments section, fans said they were happy to see the Grammy-winning singer glowing and thriving in her pregnancy.

“She is beautiful and happy! I love to see Black women in this light,” wrote one user

Ashanti is having the time of her life and I love it,” another fan penned.

Several netizens noted that “Uncle Ja” also looked happy and excited for the R&B songbird.

In another video, the “Unfoolish” singer was seen smiling and laughing while cradling her bump in front of the crowd.

Nelly Posted A Sweet Photo Of His “Fine” And Pregnant Fiancée A Few Days Before Her Performance

Before Ashanti took center stage on the Tom Joyner cruise, her soon-to-be-hubby, Nelly showed her love in a gushy Instagram post shared to his account on April 29.

In the picture, the “Baby” artist was seen sitting on Nelly’s lap, hugging the rapper close as he sat with his head buried in his hand. It’s unclear what was happening in the photo, but Nelly complemented his “fine” fiancée.

“OF COURSE NOT BEAUTIFUL I’M FINE… LUV U 2… @ASHANTI,” he wrote.

Ashanti, 43, and Nelly, 49, first dated from 2003 to 2013. After years of silence between them, their paths converged once more at Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s VERZUZ battle in 2021, reigniting their connection.

In April 2023, speculation about their romance surged when Nelly and Ashanti were spotted hand-in-hand at Gervonta Davis’ match against Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas. Confirming the rumors, the couple publicly acknowledged their rekindled relationship in September of the same year.

Pregnancy rumors surrounding Ashanti intensified after a viral video captured Nelly affectionately rubbing her stomach during the rapper’s 11th annual Black and White Ball on December 3. Recently, Ashanti took to Instagram to confirm not only her pregnancy but also her engagement, adding a new chapter to their love story.

Congrats to Ashanti!

Victoria's Secret Celebrates The Tour '23

Source: Gotham/WireImage

Back at it again with the hottest thirst traps of the week that dropped during a shenanigan-stuffed week dominated by Kendrick Lamar’s scathing response to Drake’s “Push Ups” diss, Cardi B and Offset seemingly beating breakup allegations, Mo’Nique firing more shots at Tyler Perry and Oprah, Tyrese acting up on social media (AGAIN), and more.

As promised, we’ve compiled swoon-worthy stunners (and our thirst-trappin’ celebrity faves) with baddie gyal Jada Kingdom making her return to series after twerking social media into a TIZZY back in January.

You may remember Pardison Fontaine‘s gyalfriend and generational talent Jada Kingdom clapping her copious Caribbean cakes in the viral video that trended on New Year’s Day.

As previously reported, the Jamaican baddie made waves after being accused of slithering into Megan Thee Stallion‘s bed with Pardison Fontaine.

Megan spilled the tea on her single “Cobra” where she revealed that she went through a bad breakup caused by infidelity.

The Hot Girl rapped, “Pulled up, caught him cheating, getting his d**k sucked in the same spot I’m sleeping/Lord, give me a break, I don’t know how much more of this s**t I can take.”

Naturally, fans assumed the lyrics were about her ex-boo Pardison Fontaine and Jada Kingdom who posted a photo of flowers she received from Pardi coincidentally on the same day that “Cobra” dropped.

This week’s thirst trap compilation also features Ari Fletcher delivering heat along with Angela Simmons and Lori Harvey giving what needs to be gave.

There’s also big baddie energy from Daalischus, India Love, and more so we invite you to enjoy our latest collection of top-tier thirst traps on the flip.

Country Kerfuffle: ‘Cowboy Carter’ Collaborator Willie Jones Shades Shaboozey For A Lack Of...

The (cow)boys are fightin’!

Two of the Country artists featured on Beyoncé’s latest album, Cowboy Carter, recently went at it on social media.

Cowboy Carter broke a lot of barriers in the world of Country music, not only because Beyoncé became the first Black woman to top the Top Country Albums chart, but also due to the lengthy list of Black artists she featured on the project.

Two of the artists to gain recognition from their features on Cowboy Carter are Shaboozey–who appears on “SPAGHETTII” and “SWEET ★ HONEY ★ BUCKIIN’,” and Willie Jones, who lends his vocals to “JUST FOR FUN.” While both artists gained a lot of new fans from the BeyHive, they got into a tussle online this week over Shaboozey’s music video for his track, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

Jones took to Shaboozey’s comments section to air out his grievances over a lack of representation in his music video, also congratulating him on dethroning Bey’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” for the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart while wishing for the same support from Beyoncé fans.

“Congrats but I hope the YTS + the bee hive gone support me like they doin shaboozey lol cause yall seen all them in his video,” said Willie in Shaboozey’s comment.s “Wasn’t not one 🤎 my boy was lookin like a fly in a milk bowl. lol congrats though brother #cowboysliveforever.”

Shaboozey replied by asking Jones if he wanted to “do this here,” to which he replied, “shid you never pick up the phone you up now …”

Willie went on to take a screenshot of the interaction and share it to X, saying, “Congrats to @ShaboozeysJeans on the number one but the off the porch is wack as hell… love the song tho.”

As of now, Shaboozey has yet to reply (publicly) to Willie Jones’ complaints, but perhaps he finally picked up the phone and handled things privately.

He did post a short video to his X account blowing the camera a kiss, which seems to be in response to Jones trying to stir up some drama.

“Fr It’s all love,” Shaboozey wrote in his caption. “I’m having a moment rn never though would happen in my career. I just wanna enjoy it with peace and love ❤️.”
